Where and when did you get started with YFC?
October 1st, 2008, Plymouth County

What is your current position and what do you do?
I am the City Life Director of Plymouth County. I serve our 30+ volunteers and help equip them to reach at-risk teens through our teen center, The Asylum.  I work with Juvenile Court and facilitate a diversion program and community service. I am aslo on the National City Life team.

How did you get called to ministry?
My husband had been with YFC for 9 years and I was actively involved as a volunteer. God put a burning desire to go deeper with these hurting kids and meet their physical, emotional, social and most importantly Spiritual needs.  God’s timing is perfect and He opened doors to get City Life up and running as well as work with Juvenile Courts.

How would you describe your family?
My husband Jim and I have been married for 29 amazing years. We have 4 children; Rachyl, her husband Jordan and their daughter Jayelle (who is the joy of my life) live in Bellevue, NE, she is a teacher. Ben iand his wife Alisha live in Springfield. Gabe is a Freshman at University of Nebraska at Lincoln and is engaged to be married. Jessica is working full time in Omaha.

What are some things you like to do outside of work?
I love to be outside! Love walking and gardening. I love to be with my family and teenagers. I try to read any chance I get! I absolutely love to repurpose things and work on projects. Pinterest is my BFF!

What is something interesting that few people know about you?
I can dance the MC Hammer dance and will break out in dance any time I deem it extremely embarrassing to my children!

What is (are) your favorite sport team(s)?
I only follow one team, The Nebraska Cornhuskers!! ! Gooooo Biggggg Redddddd!!!!

What is (are) your favorite food(s)?
I love a juicy prime rib and most forms of bread. Any form of chocolate!

What is (are) the most extreme place(s) you have traveled to?
I love to travel and love mountains! A missions trip to Grenada is the most extreme place I have traveled. I love the people and the climate there!



Roxanne Rahn is the City Life Director in Plymouth County. She has a BA degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.  Roxie came on staff part-time October 1, 2008 but is now a full-time staff member. Prior to this she has served alongside her husband, Jim, who served as a youth pastor for 9 years and has been the Area Director of Plymouth County for the last 12 years. They have 4 children.

Roxie has a passion for reaching at-risk youth, helping them achieve success in their personal lives and leading them into a relationship with God. She has implemented a mentoring, tutoring and art ministry as well as a weekly meal, free of charge to area youth.  Roxie works with Juvenile Court Services and runs a diversion program called Choices. She oversees all youth sentenced to community service in Plymouth County, runs The Asylum Teen Center and coordinates the 35 +volunteers who are the backbone of this ministry.
