At Youth For Christ, we believe life change doesn’t come from programs; instead, it comes through people. That’s why everything we do is rooted in authentic, Christ-sharing relationships — connections built on trust, centered on Jesus, and grounded in the long haul.
But what does it really mean to have this type of relationship? Here’s one story:
“A girl started coming to our program just to support a friend. I felt like I’d seen her before — and then I remembered: I had met her in juvenile detention four years earlier and gave her a Bible. One night at our site, she looked like she was carrying something heavy. When I asked how she was really doing, she broke down crying and said she wanted to reconnect with God. Right there in the hallway, we prayed together – and she rededicated her life to Christ.”
That’s what authentic, Christ-sharing relationships look like. There wasn’t a lecture or a quick fix – this change of heart stemmed from four years of seeds planted and a moment of presence that made space for God to move.
Across Siouxland, our leaders show up again and again – building real relationships with teens who are often overlooked or struggling. We walk with them through hard seasons, celebrate their wins, and, when trust grows, share the hope of Jesus in natural, meaningful ways.
We call this approach 3 Story – connecting our story, their story, and God’s story through authentic relationships. At YFC, it’s not about pressure. It’s about presence. Our leaders earn the right to be heard by being consistently available, honest, and kind – just like Jesus was.
Thank you for making space for these relationships to happen. When you give, volunteer, or pray, you help put faith into action – one relationship at a time.
