A Generation Ripe For Revival

story

We work with Gen Z – a generation often labeled as lazy, entitled, screen-obsessed, and uninterested in faith. But the reality we’re seeing is radically different and far more hopeful. This generation is warm, curious, and eager for authentic conversation.

Recently, Jake Bland, CEO of Youth For Christ USA, stated, “Today’s young people are not rejecting Jesus; they’re discovering Him for the first time – Jesus is someone they have never truly encountered.”

Jesus said in Matthew 9:36–38 that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Gen Z’s hearts are ripe for harvest.

According to Springtide Research Institute:

  • 79% of young people are open to changing important beliefs
  • 81% don’t take it personally when their beliefs are challenged

Our leaders are seeing increased spiritual curiosity. Many Gen Z teens are praying, reading, and exploring faith – but they don’t yet know Jesus. Perhaps the next great movement of God will come through loving the open and curious heart of the next generation!

Jake Bland offers four practical ways to reach lost young people:
Have an Embassy Mindset: Live as an ambassador of Christ.
Be a Chief Listening Officer: Lean into their curiosity.
Model Christ’s Love: Create safe environments for exploring the gospel.
Experience Revival: Let Christ stir something new in your own heart.

The harvest is truly plentiful. In our schools and communities, spiritually curious teens are longing for purpose and meaning. Let’s be bold and lead Gen Z toward Jesus!
